Final day in the Dolomiti

On our final full day in the Dolomiti, we took the recommendation from our B&B host and took the hike up to Puez Hutte. They said it would take us about five hours to hike... well, 7.5 hours later we arrived back at our B&B! It was another fantastic day full of amazing views all around, and a little more of a challenge than Tre Cime. This hike was definitely more of an intermediate/advanced level hike. It was awesome! Again, the day is best described in pictures. Enjoy!

Puez Hutte where we had lunch- my favorite mountain

Gotz comes to Italy #6: Tre Cime

The day after we arrived in the Dolomiti (Friday), we decided to go hiking up by Tre Cime (Three Peaks). This is a famous area in the Dolomiti that we thought would be best to see on Friday instead of the weekend. During the weekends it gets very busy with tourists, so we decided Friday was best. It took us about an hour and a half to drive there, plus time to stop for pictures. We arrived around 11:30 and hiked around the mountain. About five hours later we were finished with our hike. It was so amazing! And it was surprisingly easy considering we were deep into the mountains. We saw some little kids on the trails, as well as older people. It's definitely a beginner trail, so we veered off a little bit to take in the amazing scenery and get more of a challenge. The boys took lots of pictures, and of course I tried with my little point and shoot. I feel like a little kid when I take pictures with that camera vs. the boys with their big ones! It was an absolutely awesome day that can't be described in words. It can only be described in pictures. All the pictures were either from my little camera, or from the boys. So, see for yourself! Enjoy!
